Biodynamic Osteopathy is a gentle, painless approach that focuses on the body’s capacity for self-healing, generating the processes needed to achieve health.
This approach is completely free of contraindicationsand is the method used to treat newborns, pregnant e elderly, precisely because it is a delicate approach and puts patient and therapist in sync.
When was biodynamic osteopathy born?
A Osteopatia nasceu graças a A.T.
Biodynamic osteopathy as we know it today was born thanks to the American osteopath James Jealouswho, together with Rollin Becker and Robert Fulford (Sutherland’s students), continued his studies.
The definition of biodynamic osteopathy comes from the biodynamic embryology of the German embryologist Erich Blechsmidt, who gives an explanation of the concept of body unity never seen before.
What is biodynamic osteopathy?
“Health” in osteopathy is the basis of treatment, and the search for it is thanks to our body’s intrinsic possibility of self-healing.
According to biodynamic osteopathy, “health” derives from the moment life develops, or from the union of two cells, the egg and the sperm.
With their union there is an “ignition” that continues throughout embryonic development thanks to certain embryonic forces, which from the moment the central nervous system develops continue to influence and operate even in extrauterine life and in adults.
Biodynamic osteopathy emphasizes the health that is present in every human organism.
The osteopath’s aim is to put the patient in a neutral state, in other words, to achieve the best capacity for self-healing, thus allowing the intrinsic forces to self-regulate, eliminating injuries and tensions, using the minimum amount of energy to carry out the therapeutic processes aimed at achieving health.
How does it work?
Thanks to a subtle and delicate touch, the osteopath can make the patient reach neutrality thanks to the synchronization of the slower craniosacral rhythms .
By lowering times and rhythms, the body is remodeled, with the reintegration of parts that were previously dysfunctional, thus achieving the correct physiological functioning of all the body’s systems.
Health also means ‘unique, intact’, integrated into the environment, the world, the universe. The osteopath is therefore able to restore the patient and their body’s ability to integrate with the outside world.
When should I have a biodynamic osteopathy treatment?
A biodynamic osteopathy treatment is recommended whenever tension and pain arise, it means that our body is not compensating in the best way, is wasting too much energy and is unable to find the ideal balance.
Biodynamic treatment is strictly recommended for newborn babiesin the first few weeks of life, especially in cases of cesarean sections or large births and plagiocephaly or a flat head.
It is also effective for adults who need to rebalance both their physical and nervous systems, so in cases of incorrect posture or stress.
